Lights! Camera! Action! JASNA Southwest, Host Region for the 2017 AGM, has launched a Young Filmmakers Contest for students in high school, college and graduate school.
Students are invited to submit a short film (five minutes or less), shot in widescreen format and adapted from or inspired by Jane Austen’s writing or life, and related in some way to the conference theme “Jane Austen in Paradise.” Otherwise, contestants are encouraged to use their imagination. The film may be a comedy, drama or documentary in live action or animation.
The submission deadline is July 21, 2017. Three winners will be chosen in each division (high school, college and graduate school), and the top submissions will be screened at the AGM. A “crowd favorite” award will also be bestowed.
