You are cordially invited to attend the JASNA 2001 Annual General Meeting in Seattle, October 5-7, 2001. |
Seattle
is exactly the sparkling city Jane Austen would enjoy – a bright
combination of art, music, study, communities, enterprise, dining,
hospitality, adventure, outdoors, and joie
de vivre. It’s the
ideal setting for the 2001 Annual General Meeting in vibrant downtown
Seattle, surrounded by stunning peaks, lakes and countryside. It’s
the ideal city for exploring the “Pleasures, Pursuits, and Passions:
Entertainment and Jane Austen.”
The Seattle AGM will host an extremely talented and lively
group of presenters and topics, including our keynote speaker, British
Austen author, David Selwyn. Other
speakers come from as far away as Australia and Eastern Canada. But,
as the title says, this AGM is also about fun and friendship.
There will be a magnificent clothing, jewelry, and art gallery
– including fashions from renowned costumiers in Seattle.
Chamber music, complete with Broadwood pianoforte, musical
revues based on Austen’s work, dress balls and a wide array of
sightseeing, dining and visiting opportunities are planned.
Shopping, concerts, theater or just exploring in the Emerald
City abounds, all within easy walking of the WestCoast Grand Hotel
Fifth Avenue. Seattle is one of the most beautiful and unforgettable cities in the world – join us and Jane Austen in October, 2001 to see why. (Seattle’s weather can be surprisingly England-like—so just in case—bring your umbrella … along with your parasol!) |
