Hotel Information
Loews Ventana Canyon Resort

Hotel Reservations Update (September 16, 2006):  Our conference hotel is completely booked for several nights during the AGM, including Saturday.  No need to worry though.  We have set up overflow room blocks at two hotels near Loews with special rates available until September 26, subject to room availability.  Visit the Overflow Hotel Information page to learn more about the hotels and how to make reservations.

Please Note: If you reserved more room nights at Loews than you will actually need for the AGM, or if you have decided to room with someone and still have an extra room reserved, please cancel the room nights you won’t be using.

The casually elegant Loews Ventana Canyon Resort will be our conference hotel. Ranked as one of the top 25 resorts in North America in January 2005 by Condé Nast Traveler, the 3-story resort is nestled in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains, surrounded by a "forest" of saguaro cactus.

There are many ways to enjoy the outdoors, including walking on the hotel property, hiking the surrounding Ventana Canyon nature trail, golfing, tennis, or just sitting by the pool. For those who enjoy a bit of pampering or a vigorous workout, a full-service spa and workout facilities are also on the premises.

Guest Rooms
All of Loews' guestrooms were fully renovated in the summer of 2005. Amenities include an in-room coffee maker, fully-stocked mini bar, telephones with voice mail, high-speed internet access, double-sized bathtub, two televisions (one in the bathroom), terry robes, iron and ironing board, and hair dryer.

Restaurants
Three restaurants are on the premises, as well as a coffee and dessert bar and poolside grill (weather permitting). The restaurants at Loews are very popular with hotel guests and local residents, so it's highly recommended that you make reservations for dinner so that you are guaranteed the time you want.

Canyon Café and Cascade Lounge
Casual American fare is served daily in the Canyon Café for breakfast and lunch and in the Cascade Lounge for lunch and dinner.

Flying V Bar & Grill
Relaxed yet stylish restaurant on the hotel property featuring innovative southwestern fare served indoors and out. Lunch is served on Fridays and Saturdays. Extensive tequila menu.

Ventana Room
The only
AAA 5 Diamond Award restaurant in Tucson, the Ventana Room is renowned for its New American Formality cuisine and excellent service. Prix fixe menu and tasting menu daily. Extensive wine list.

Other Facilities
Recreational facilities include two 18-hole, PGA championship golf courses; two swimming pools with Jacuzzis, tennis courts, a croquet court, and more.
It is recommended that you make spa and golf reservations in advance so that you are guaranteed the time you want.

Room Reservations
The JASNA rate is $199, plus tax, per room, October 24 through November 1, 2006. For reservations, call Loews by September 26, 2006 at 800-234-5117 or 520-299-2020, and ask for the conference rate for the Jane Austen Society of North America. The JASNA rate can only be requested when making reservations by telephone, not online.
Be sure to specify whether you want a king bed or two double beds when making reservations. The hotel has more rooms with a king bed than two double beds, and we want to make sure the latter rooms go to those who need them. JASNA members will not be charged a resort services fee, and self-parking is free of charge.

Note: If you do not make a room reservation by September 26, 2006, Loews cannot guarantee that you will receive the special JASNA rate or a room in the hotel.

Roommate Matching Service
As in the past, if you would like to share a room, make new friends, and save money, roommate matching will be available by request when you register for the AGM. The registration brochure will be mailed to JASNA members in mid June.
