The Awakening of a Media Tycoon

Screen Shot 2018 03 03 at 13.43.50 AMKaren Kelleher Bacon, who has developed and worked on films for Paramount Pictures, Miramax Films, A&E Networks and PBS, will take us on a journey examining Jane Austen's enduring popularity in her talk, "Jane Austen: The Awakening of a Media Tycoon." She will discuss Austen's timeless appeal, her literary genius, and the ties the bind her world to ours. Her talk will be followed by a screening of the 2007 television adaptation of Persuasion, a novel about second chances and enduring love.
