Everybody's Jane Austen
Join the Metro New York Region for a full-day conference investigating Jane Austen's legacy. The program will begin with a talk by Austen scholar Juliette Wells of Goucher College on the origins of Austen's fandom. The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion of Austen's place in present-day pop culture with Tia A. Smith (executive producer of the recent Hallmark adaptation of Sense and Sensibility) and Renata Dennis (JASNA board member and chair of the EDI Committee), moderated by Janet Saidi (host of The Austen Connection podcast).
After a break for lunch on your own, the program concludes with the New York premiere of Tiny Dynamite's hit comedy The Complete Works of Jane Austen, Abridged performed by the cast of the 2023 production in Hartford: Brittany Onukwugha, Charlotte Northeast, and Shannon Michael Wamser.
Discounted registration is available through August 16 with the code EARLYBIRD, and all seats are general admission, so you will be able to sit where (and with whom) you wish. Admission for the conference is $65.
The public is invited to this event.
