Local Attractions

The Greater Chicago Region of JASNA is proud to show off Chicago's attractions, many of them within walking distance of the Westin Michigan Avenue Hotel.  Chocoholics will be happy to know that several gourmet chocolate cafes are close to the hotel!

Chicago skyline with a focus on Navy Pier, located along the lake front with theater, restaurants, promenade and Magnificent Mile shops.
Cloud Gate.  Chicagoans refer to it as "the bean" -- a wonderful reflective sculpture in Millennium Park which reflects the city skyline and people who stand beside it or under it.
Great Hall of the Field Museum of Natural History located on the lake, walking distance from downtown.  The Field Museum is in a museum park where you can visit the
Shedd Aquarium (which has an Amazon River Basin exhibit and Pacific Northwest
setting for dolphins and whales and a dolphin show) and the Adler Planetarium with its three sky shows.
Buckingham Fountain located in Grant Park along the lake, just east of Monroe Harbor and just to the west of Millenium Park. Grant Park has a concert stage, the venue used for many festivals.  Grant Park also has a rose garden.
Oak Street beach, close to the AGM hotel, a popular sitting, swimming, and walking beach which is free and has wonderful sand.
A Picasso statue in a plaza in front of City Hall and the Federal Building downtown.  Many speeches, walks, protests, rallies begin here.
