Overflow Room Blocks for the 2026 AGM

Thank you for your patience as we worked to address the shortage of hotel rooms for the AGM. This email outlines several options for you. If you reserve a room based on these options, please complete this short form so that we can determine transportation needs for overflow attendees.

LEO KENT HOTEL: A Marriott Tribute Portfolio Hotel

We now have a room block at the Marriott Leo Kent Hotel. Opened in 2023 in a historic high-rise, it is in the heart of downtown, surrounded by restaurants and museums. TripAdvisor rates it the #1 hotel in Tucson. The room block includes:

• King rooms are sold out. Rooms with 2 Queen beds are now available
• $277 per night plus tax (the same as the JW Marriott Starr Pass)
• October 27-November 2 included in block; extended dates may be available at JASNA rate depending on availability
• Complimentary guest room wifi
• Discounted self-parking, $20/day
• No-fee cancellation up to 48 hours before arrival
• JASNA rate rooms must be booked by August 26

The Leo Kent could not give us as many rooms as we requested. If the JASNA-rate rooms sell out, you may find availability there outside the JASNA block at a comparable rate but with different terms. If you are a Marriott Bonvoy member, you can also try booking through Bonvoy. 

HOME2SUITES TUCSON DOWNTOWN

You may also consider the Home 2 Suites by Hilton Tucson Downtown, which is about five minutes' walk (0.2 miles) from the Leo Kent. It is not as upscale as the JW Marriott or the Leo Kent, but it is correspondingly cheaper and offers some amenities the others do not, including free hot breakfast. JASNA is holding these rooms to provide options for you at a time of rapidly disappearing availability and volatile hotel rates, but you are not required to book through the JASNA block—if you find a better deal that works for you, take it.

Home2 Suites shares a building with the Hampton Inn, which offers a different style of room without a kitchen. Hampton Inn rooms are available at the same rate.

OTHER OPTIONS

• Another option that may work for some people is renting a room or condo in resort complexes near the hotel through online booking sites like VRBO or Booking.com. One property offers a shuttle to the JW Marriott. If you would like more information about this, please email me at jasnaconferencedir@gmail.com (too many details to include here).
• If these options don't work for you, you are free to wait and see if you can get into the JW Marriott Starr Pass. Cancellations will come in as we get closer to the conference date. You can check by using this direct link to the online reservation site (choose "Attendee" in the white box; no code is necessary). Please don't reserve the before-and-after dates unless you are able to get a reservation for the peak nights at the JW Marriott. We will of course continue to talk with the JW Marriott staff and will take any additional rooms they offer us, but at this point it is unlikely they will extend any more availability for the peak nights of Thursday/Friday/Saturday.  

FOR YOUR COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE

• We plan to run a bus between the Leo Kent and JW Marriott at the beginning and end of each day during the AGM (and possibly more). Again, please complete this form when you make a booking so we can assess transportation needs.
• We will also have a hospitality "day room" at the conference hotel just for attendees/companions in the overflow block, where you can take a little time out, make a cup of coffee or tea, or change clothes. 
• For all AGM attendees, on Friday and Saturday we will have lunch concessions right in the meeting space offering reasonably priced sandwiches and salads, with space to dine indoors or outdoors. 
• You will find informal seating areas in the meeting space and elsewhere in the JW Marriott throughout the long weekend so that you won't miss out on the social side of the AGM.  
• If you consent, we'll share your contact information with other attendees at your overflow hotel so you can connect for meals if desired.
