Join the Maryland Region for a virtual presentation by Jocelyn Harris, who will reveal the remarkably close connections between the then largely unknown writer and the immensely powerful governor-general of Bengal, who probably fathered Austen's cousin Eliza de Feuillide. 

Harris is professor emerita of English at the University of Otago, New Zealand, and the author of three Austen-focused books: Jane Austen's Art of Memory, A Revolution Almost Beyond Expression: Jane Austen's Persuasion, and Satire, Celebrity and Politics in Jane Austen.
