Ozark Foothills Region: Afternoon Tea and Staged Reading
May 3
4:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Afternoon Tea and Staged Reading of Manydown

Join the Ozark Foothills Region for tea and scones from Fayetteville Tea House and The Commons for a gathering of members of this brand-new JASNA region. During this event, we will begin to build a strong foundation by learning about member interests, discussing future programs and locations, and exploring volunteer opportunities.
The gathering will culminate with a staged reading of Manydown: A Jane Austen Story, a one-act play by playwright Sarah Rose Kearns. Inspired by a pivotal moment in the life of Jane Austen, the play brings history and imagination together as Austen considers a life-changing marriage proposal at Manydown House. The reading will be performed by actors from TheatreSquared’s production of Pride and Prejudice.
Kearns' work often explores the lives of writers and historical figures. She is co-regional coordinator of the JASNA New York Metro Region and will also be in attendance for the event, giving guests the opportunity to meet her and discuss the play.
The event is free to JASNA members but a ticket is required. Reserve a spot for you and a guest.
The cost for nonmembers is $10. Register now.
Consider making it a full Austen day by joining other region members for the 2 p.m. performance of Pride and Prejudice on May 3 before attending the tea. Purchase performance tickets using promo code 27198 for a discount.
