Bonnet-Making Class

IMG 0409

Join the San Diego Region for a bonnet-making class led by Meredith Johnson. You’ll learn how to make a soft-crown Regency-era bonnet with fabric-covered brim and crown similar to the one in the photo. This will involve both machine- and hand-sewing, including decorating your bonnet! However, only basic skills are needed to participate. Bonnet materials provided will include several colors of faux silk to choose from, pattern pieces, and decorative materials.

Please bring a sewing machine if you have one, pins, hand-sewing needles, white thread, seam gauge, seam ripper, sewing scissors, measuring tape, fabric-marking pens or chalk, and a thimble if you use one. Note: We can share sewing machines if needed.

The materials will cost $23 per person.

To RSVP, email Meredith Johnson, who will respond with information on where to send a check to cover the materials for your bonnet.
