Cooking Food Jane Would Eat

Our May event invites you to pick a recipe, cook it in advance, then bring and share it with your fellow Jane devotees. This event is based on the book Jane Austen'sTable. The cookbook features modern recipes inspired by the food and dining of Jane Austen’s novels.

The event is open to members and their guests who sign up in advance.

Choose from recipes such as: Charlotte Lucas’ Mince Pie, Elizabeth Martin’s Sausage Roll, Mr. Collins’ Pea Soup, Mrs. Austen’s Spinach and Potato Gratin, and more! To choose a recipe, email Arlene Harris at downtonarlene@gmail.com and she will send you a list of recipes available—from breads to drinks to sandwiches and salads. Each makes rather small portions. There may be more than one person making the same recipe.

Pick the recipe you want to prepare and Harris will send you the recipe from the book.
