Gillian Dow (email: g.dow@soton.ac.uk) is a lecturer in English at the University of Southampton, working in partnership with Chawton House Library.  She is the editor of Translators, Interpreters, Mediators: Women Writers 1700-1900 (Lang, 2007) and an edition of Genlis’s Adelaide and Theodore (Pickering and Chatto, 2007).
