AGM Hotel, Registration, and Activities Update

Dear AGM Registrants (and those on the waitlist too):

We appreciate your patience as we sorted out lots of details after the opening of in-person registration, livestream/virtual registration, and hotel reservations. We’re happy to say that whether you’re joining us in person or virtually, this AGM is going to be unforgettable. Here are some important updates.

Emails

This year, an unusually large percentage of emails sent through the registration system ended up in spam/junk folders, or never arrived at all. While we work on a solution for this, we are temporarily sending from the vpconf@jasna.org email address. If you need to contact us, please write to the correct point of contact, listed at the end of this message.

Hotel Reservations

We will be adding some rooms but cannot specify how many at this point. We are also working with the Marriott to address JASNA members’ questions and concerns. If you have a hotel issue and haven’t yet communicated with someone on the AGM team, please email Linda at lindasnewmail@gmail.com. Thanks for your patience as we continue to address your questions.

Optional Activity Expansion 

• Several tours and workshops and the Maritime Merriment performance still have space available. You can modify your registration yourself to add, drop, or switch activities, or ask the Registrar for assistance.
• If you are on an activity waitlist, watch your email (and check your spam folder daily) for notifications. If a space becomes available, an email will be sent to the first person on the waitlist, who will have 48 hours to respond before the offer moves to the next person.
• Space has been added to Silhouette Portraits on Saturday and Golden Age P&P Movie (new showing at 4pm on Wednesday). 
• We believe we will be able to add seats to the Persuasion play—stay tuned. More information on the Nevermore tour is also on the way.
• If you are waitlisted for the Regency Dinner at Pierpoint Restaurant or the Goucher tour, space constraints at the destinations mean we cannot add any more seats. Waitlists for these events are long; next week, we will contact those who are unlikely to get in so that you can adjust your travel plans accordingly. 
• A few tours did not approach the tour provider’s minimum headcount and have been cancelled. Those signed up for these tours will receive a full refund. 

In-Person AGM Registration Waitlist 

We are still determining how many additional spaces can be opened up for AGM attendance. A detailed update will be sent to everyone on the waitlist later in July. If you know someone who wants to join the in-person waitlist, they should email jasnaagm@gmail.com to be added.

Livestream/Virtual Registration

Livestream/virtual registration is open. There is no limit to livestream/virtual registration, but we ask you to please register by July 31 so that we know approximately how many participants to plan for. 

Payments and Membership Renewals 

If you have a balance due, you can modify your registration to add a payment. Payment reminders will be sent out next week. If you need to join JASNA or renew your membership, please go to www.jasna.org/join.

Regency Looks from Jane Austen Books

The Thursday evening fashion show needs models. If you have a costume inspired by Austen or would like to create one to be part of the show, please fill out this interest form by August 15. Attendees and costumed Companions may participate. To aid those wishing to participate or those who just want guidance on their AGM attire, the AGM team is hosting a webinar with Lena Yasutake, Looking Regency Fine on a Dime.
