Host City

Welcome to Denver, the Mile High City

“What are men to rocks and mountains? Oh! what hours of transport we shall spend! And when we do return, it shall not be like other travellers, without being able to give one accurate idea of any thing. We will know where we have gone—we will recollect what we have seen. Lakes, mountains, and rivers shall not be jumbled together in our imaginations . . .”

Situated at 5,280 feet (a mile) above sea level, Denver and surrounding cities, known collectively as the Front Range, offer a thriving cultural scene, award-winning restaurants, unparalleled recreation, and 300 days of sunshine.

Although attendees won’t need to venture from the property to find diversion, should you wish to explore the area, downtown Denver is 30 minutes away, while Boulder is less than an hour from the hotel. Rocky Mountain National Park is also an option for a day trip, or pop down to Colorado Springs and experience Pikes Peak, the highest summit of the southern Front Range and inspiration for the song “America the Beautiful.” Looking for a breathtaking concert experience? Check out the lineup at Red Rocks, the only naturally occurring, acoustically perfect amphitheater, which attracts world-class artists each year.

The Denver area is the traditional territory of the Ute, Cheyenne, and Arapahoe peoples, who are among the 48 contemporary tribes with a historic presence in Colorado. Among its more than 70,000 works of art, the Denver Art Museum maintains an extensive collection of Native American art, including two paintings by White Bird—of the Cheyenne/Nez Percé—and a Pawnee bear-claw necklace.

The Denver-Boulder Region will organize excursions throughout the AGM and also provide recommendations for self-guided tours, dining, and exploration.
